Critical Thinking

Part one

Every individual in the globe can do more than he is currently doing if only he realizes his potential and finds a way to be active and reduce dormancy and under development of talents and abilities. Improvement and development in the way individual thinks and views different concepts and ideas in life leads to creation and development of consciousness and commitment. A critical thinker should not take thinking for granted and should put all the efforts needed to deliver desired results. Developing good habits of thought through hard work is more than thinking considering that it requires an individual to evaluate and analyze alternatives to a belief or what is viewed to be correct by the majority of the society. An individual’s ability to develop and manage good habits of thought that are always accompanied by hard work determines how successful and efficient an individual is (Bean, 2011). This concept means that developing good habits for thought through handwork will result in respect and satisfaction in all endeavors undertaken by an individual. This concept helps individuals to focus on the most important goals, concentrate his or her energies to stay on the course for a task and gain benefits from his concentration on the task at hands.

Part 2

For an individual to be regarded as a critical thinker, he has to analyze arguments in an attempt to question the existing beliefs. In most cases, critical thinking is referred to as free thinking considering that the practitioners are required to think outside the box.  In most instances, critical thinking is based on intellectual values on certain subjects to provide clarity accuracy, precisions, and consistency.     However, in most cases, most cases people misinterpret critical thinking to a set of knowledge that is taught and obtained in school or other education institutions. This assumption is wrong considering that one does not need to be educated to be a free thinker. It all starts with research and wide knowledge of various concepts and ideas in life.

Although it is hard for an individual to become his own critique, a free thinker or rather a critical thinker should be in a position to find faults in his own thinking.  One of the widely known methods of criticizing one’s thinking is through clarification of individual thinking. At all times, an individual should be on the lookout for fuzzy, formless, blurred and vague thinking (Bullen, 2007). The second method that can be used as the basis for criticizing self-thinking is by questioning the questions. A critical thinker has so many unanswered questions about different concepts that need to be answered. Questioning the questions will definitely show faults in thoughts or thinking of a critical thinker.
